West Coast Fusion
2014 Gold Tommie Award Winning
Kitchen renovation for out of province clients who have a passion for cooking & entertaining, our goal was to open up this small galley kitchen to create a dramatic lofty 2000sf, nearly entirely open concept great room for large gatherings. Updating finishings & flooring while working with West Coast Contemporary Architectural features including an abundance of cedar & large four-sided fireplace. Upon reviewing the purposed design we determined upon removing the kitchen walls, the kitchenette would appear to be too closed in. We decided to open up these walls as well. In order to define this pace & fashion a point of interest, we cladded the remaining sections of walls in stained fir as a decorative post & beam feature.
Fusing more traditional touches that work with the style/era of the home. Stunning slab of Titanium Gold granite, hand chosen from the yard with deep quartz pockets & plenty of movement. Working with the client desire for rich espresso cabinets we paired them with a rustic medium stained hardwood flooring to tie into the warm hues of the cedar.
